This exhibition presents the retrospective work of Milena Lah, featuring the works of the most distinctive woman artist of the second half of the twentieth century in Croatia.
The exhibition shows the exceptional and internationally work of this sculptress who learned her craft from Vanja Radauš at the Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts. Is displaying works from the holdings of the Modern Gallery but also pieces owned by her family or kept at the Croatian Academy Glyptotheque as well as items borrowed for the occasion from other Croatian museums and private collections.
The exhibition will also feature paintings, drawings and some of the many articles and notes about sculpting that Milena Lah wrote during her career and published in catalogues and the press. In addition, some photography of her monumental public sculpture and the 26-minute documentary film Milena Lah written and directed by Bogdan Žižić, produced for HTV in 2003, will be screened.
And to make this exhibit even more exciting, her own son, Igor Lah will be on hand and will be happy to guide visitors through the exhibition and respond to any questions they might have.
