Michael Kenna, English artist of international renown, is known for his work in black and white only, and having prints with remarkable finesse and poetry, demonstrates its commitment to quality and inspiration. It covers a variety of topics in the register of the nature of the landscape, more or less wild, or cities in the world.

His work on Paris that began thirty years ago, the Carnavalet Museum had already acquired a selection of his pictures in 1989 with the Michèle Chomette gallery. The photographer gave on this occasion an additional gift, a gift that was followed by several others thereafter. The collection currently has 17 works from him.

A book project about Paris and France led him to propose today a major new museum donation. An exhibition in 2014 would present to the public the museum collection and new for this artist.
