The Italian sculptor, near the Liberty movement and symbolism, was able to develop a language or Expressionism mingles with reminiscences of ancient art from the Renaissance but also neo-Gothic, in an unpublished balance between expressive power of the model and the grace of purely decorative motifs.

Stranger to the world of avant-garde, Wildt enjoyed a controversial critical success, both because of the subjects of his sometimes obscure works, as formal choices considered eccentric. Its sensitivity has made it interprets a "tired and anxious time, gullible and curious" (Ugo Ojetti).

Organized with the participation of the Foundation Cassa dei risparmi di Forli, this exceptional exhibition presents for the first time in France, sculptures and drawings by one of the finest artists of the twentieth century cultivated.
