Dedicated to a period of time instead of an artist or a movement, this exhibition presents sculptures from the Victorian era, the golden age for sculpture.

The result is a powerful, beautiful and inventive exhibition exploring the original techniques and materials used during this time. Visitors will discover the ingenuity and creativity of the Victorian age.

During the Victorian time, innovation and industries were flourishing, sculpture profited from ground-breaking new materials and methods that created a thrilling and cutting edge environment for Victorian sculptors.

On display are a vast range of objects in marble, limewood, ceramic, but also jewellery and silverwork, describing all aspects of Victorian life. Sculpture Victorious provides an in-depth exploration of the artistic and historical developments of one of Britain’s most prolific eras and is a feast for the eyes.
